Before Coming To Mexico
If you like what you’ve heard so far and you want to consider the Lakeside area for your future, Celia and I suggest that you come for a visit so you can get acquainted with the area and the wonderful environment. For your stay, there are numerous B&B’s, small hotels, and houses to rent depending on your length of stay and your budget. If you need any help with these, just e-mail us and we will make recommendations for you.
But before you come, it is important that you have a current passport and you will need a visa that is obtained at the airport, on the plane, or at the border, depending on how you arrive. If you have never been to Mexico before, it is advisable that you contact the Mexican consulate office nearest you so you can get the latest information about coming into the country.
Those who have decided to have a home here in Mexico are generally found in two categories. Some who want to be here for 6 months during the “high season” (when it is ‘cold’ in their hometown), and they will only need a Tourist Visa, or an FMT, which is a permit for six months. Others who want to live here full-time will have to have an FM2 or FM3.
We are going to assume you will fall in love with this place, as I did, and then you can join the list of Lakeside residents who call this place “home”. |
